How digital elements were quickly implemented in everyday teaching

The FAU without a presence? This was the question that suddenly confronted the teachers, but also the university management, administration and service facilities with the outbreak of the Corona pandemic. Alternatives to classroom teaching had to be implemented quickly. Sónia Hetzner, Managing Director of the Institute for Innovation in Learning (ILI) at FAU, tells of the most intensive months she has ever experienced at FAU.

Video conferencing, do-it-yourself videos, webinars, online courses, digital conferences, live streaming have become part of everyday life

The ILI is a FAU institution, which has been developing digital teaching and e-learning at FAU for many years. But even though digital teaching, i.e. the interlocking of didactic and technical innovation in the educational context, has been the focus of the institute for 30 years, everything suddenly changed with the corona eruption: We were now needed by everyone.
